This week saw the start of the foundations diggings in preparation for the lightning protection and concrete pour. Our engineer/builder is confident that now that all our major hurdles have been solved (red tape) the site construction will progress swiftly. That's good news for all the iTelescope Members eager to image the southern skies.
We have also taken delivery of all our Australian based iTelescopes to the Siding Spring Office. Here they will be cleaned, resurfaced and preapred for installation into the observatory in a few months.
Along with the ground works iTelescope is having its communications plugged into the fibre optical networks shared by the major telescopes on the mountain. This high speed service will allow fast transfers of image data to the iTelescope FTP servers.
More updates Soon. Also see our Facebook page for the latest news and images from iTelescope.
