iTelescope has been busy preparing a few new features that will soon be rolled out to all our telescope interface systems. These new features have been a result of user feedback and we thank you all.
New 'Post-Processing' Options
These will allow for smoother and more efficient data collection for science users in particular.
In order to make your sessions more time efficient the 'Preview Images' and Calibrated files are now able to be skipped. The iTelescope - ACP system can now dynamically create preview images based on the exposure time.
An exposure of less than 90 seconds will produce no preview image at all, unless the member selects the option to have it 'ON'. For longer exposures you now have the option to see only the first and last previews or to skip the post-processing of previews altogether. These features have already been installed on T4 as a test bed.
If you can calibrate your own raw data post session, then the option to disable calibration in real-time will greatly reduce the total time between images in a series. For example, when imaging passing Near Earth Objects (NEOs) your session will be smoother and with less time between individual sub frames waiting for real time 'at telescope' data processing.
This advanced option can be applied to disable the real-time Calibration of raw data with Flats Darks & Bias. Resulting in ONLY RAW FITs data being produced for your session. Calibration Master Files for all telescopes can always be found in your iTelescope FTP file server for download.
